Things Hello Kitty Island Adventure Doesn’t Tell You – Hello Kitty Island Adventure Guide

While being a cozy life simulator at its core, the “adventure” part of Hello Kitty Island Adventure is there for a reason. There is quite a lot to unpack and explore in this Sanrio paradise. Although island life is undoubtedly peaceful, not everything will be handed to you so easily.

With so much to discover, plenty of features, game mechanics, and small details easily go unnoticed. If you are curious about what you might have missed, on this page of IGN’s Hello Kitty Island Adventure guide we’ll talk about all the things Hello Kitty Island Adventure doesn’t tell you.

Discover How to Get Any Item From Your Inventory Menu

Stuck trying to find a particular item for a quest or craft in a new recipe? Every item in the game has an “Info” menu that you can view to discover exactly how or where to find an item.

To view the info on where to find a certain item, just select the Inventory button in the top right. Select the item you want to find out more about. Then just tap the “Info” button to learn more about how or where you can find that item. This works for items that are required for quests as well, giving a helpful hint as to where to look for necessary resources.

Use Friendship Blossoms for Extra Daily Gifts

So much of the story progression in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is locked behind reaching certain Friendship levels with your favorite Sanrio Characters. Since the game works in real time, you have to wait for the start of every new day before you can give a Character another three gifts.

By gifting a Character a Friendship Blossom, you unlock the ability to give a Character three extra gifts for that day. Friendship Blossoms can only be obtained from the Daily Check-In, so spend your Friendship Blossoms wisely.

Find Out What Every Character Likes

It can feel difficult to sus out what each Sanrio Character likes best when it comes to gifting. While you can make some educated guesses, or even ask other Characters for tips on what to gift other friends, there is someplace you can look to find all of the Sanrio Characters favorite kind of gift.

Using the “Phone” menu in the top right corner, you can open the Friends menu. Here you can view exactly what each Character likes. Each Character profile shows hints for what categories of gifts they like, from “sweet” to “spooky”. Pay attention to what items you gather or craft that are tagged with these same icons to learn what preferences Characters have.

Find Extra Flour Once Per Day

To bake up anything in the oven in Hello Kitty’s cafe, you need plenty of Flour on hand. Flour is a resource that is generally only received from gifting items to My Melody, though there are some Treasure Chests and Collections rewards that might give you flour as well.

Get a little bit of extra Flour every day by checking Hello Kitty’s cafe. You can find one Flour on the shelf above Hello Kitty’s kitchen daily. Make sure to grab one, and use it to bake Hello Kitty a Mama’s Apple Pie while you’re at it!

Dress Up the Island Beings in Hats

Hats and outfits aren’t just for flaunting your fashion sense around the island. You can also “exchange” hats and certain costumes with the mysterious island beings called Nulls.

Interact with a Null by walking up to them and selecting the “hat” icon on the right-hand side when it appears. If you have a hat or costume that the Null can wear, select it and then tap “Accept”. That Null will wear your hat or costume around the island from then on, until you gift them a new item.

Use Beds to Change the Time of Day

That’s right, furniture in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is functional. By interacting with any bed placed in a Visitor’s Cabin – even one that is currently occupied by a Visitor – you can change the current time of day.

Sleeping in a bed can be useful to skip to a specific time of day that is necessary for a quest or even for catching a specific Critter.

Get Missing Comic Books for Your Collection From Badtz-maru

It seems like Badtz-maru’s whole comic book collection was scattered across the island when the plane crashed. You can find Comic Books hidden all throughout the game. As you explore the island, you might just build a Comic Book collection of your own.

You can stop by Badtz-maru’s Comic Stand every day to purchase a Comic Book that you haven’t previously collected. Be sure to stop by the Comic Stand on the docks in Seaside Resort daily to see what editions Badtz-maru has for sale and what he is accepting in exchange.
