The Family Adventure Race kicks off online with a Zoom session where families will receive instructions and race rules. From there, participants will use a specially designed app to unlock a series of clues on their phones. Each clue leads to a unique activity or challenge, earning points along the way.

What makes this event stand out is its focus on family bonding and shared experiences. Clues involve a mix of mindfulness tasks, physical challenges, local history dives, artistic encounters, and even interactions with community members like police and fire departments. Each checkpoint offers a chance to connect with local businesses and landmarks, creating meaningful moments that your family will cherish long after the race ends.

Some of the exciting challenges include:

• Family Car Karaoke on the road to your next destination.
• Dipping toes in Lake Ontario, enjoying nature while soaking in serenity.
• Pushup challenges at a health food shop to keep everyone energized.
• Forming a human pyramid in a park, building teamwork and a sense of accomplishment.
• Even thoughtful acts of kindness like offering to pump gas for someone else!

At each stop, families will document their adventures with photos or videos, creating a vibrant collection of memories. Teams will strategize their routes, selecting which challenges to tackle for maximum points.

After completing their chosen adventures, all families will gather at a local park for one thrilling final mission before crossing the finish line. The celebration doesn’t end there! The park will host an array of festivities, including awards for the highest-scoring teams, live music from a local band, and vendors. There will be a fun slide show and a trophy for the family with the most points. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a day of laughter and connection.

Radiant Girls, the organizer behind this event, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, strengthening family bonds, and equipping teens with leadership, emotional intelligence, and wellness skills.
